Last year, Laurier Macdonald High School with the help of CTV Montreal and the Canadian Cancer Society helped raise over $98,000 for cancer research. They currently hold the Canadian record for most money donated by a senior high school (Sec. 3 to 5) in Canada. This year, Laurier Macdonald is organizing an activity for cancer. The event will be called “Living Moving and Conquering Cancer” (L.M.A.C.). Our event will take place at Laurier Macdonald on Friday May 11th from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Their goal this year is to raise $50,000. The proceeds of this event will benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada and The Ride to Conquer Cancer.
L.M.A.C. is an opportunity to get together with family and friends to celebratecancer survivors, rememberloved ones lost to cancer, and fight back in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease. What makes this event so special is:
It’s an overnight event
Family members, friends or co-workers gather into teams of 10 to participate in the fun activities
There will be a Survivors’ Wall , a Wall of Hope, and a Wall of Remembrance to all those who have been touched by cancer
Activities and fun events throughout the night (ZUMBA, CARDIO TAE BOE, CARDIO LATIN, YOGA, AND DODGE BALL)
A maximum of 200 people can register and attend
Teams of 10 ($100 per person and registration fees of $10 per person).
This year they will be honoring a student at their school, Vince Fillipone, who is currently in remission from Leukemia and his mom will be shaving his head that evening in honor of all those who have lost their lives to cancer.

Les participants assisteront à la présentation des collections de Patrick Larrivée et Christine Charlebois, tous deux boursiers de la fondation. Un hommage particulier sera rendu à Raymonde Tranchemontagne, designer et modèle de réussite dans l’industrie. Un défilé aura également lieu afin de présenter les travaux d’élèves en fin de programme.
